About

The team behind your Malta yacht charter.

Elite Rentals Malta runs private yacht charters in Malta, Gozo, and Comino. We are a small group with a hand picked fleet of 19 boats and a long list of repeat guests. The brand started in Dubai with a single fleet of supercars. It grew across Europe. Today the heart of the operation is here, on the Maltese coast.

01The Origin

How the brand started.

Two brothers, Kristan and Julian De Graaf, opened the doors of Elite Rentals in Dubai with one rule. The day we hand to a guest matters more than the asset we hand over. Cars first. Yachts later. The same rule applies to all of it.

The Dubai market was loud and crowded. Most rentals felt like a paperwork exercise. Pickups ran late, vehicles arrived dusty, and the people on the other side of the call sounded bored. We chose the opposite path. Clean cars on time, captains who answered the phone, and small details handled before the guest had to ask.

The conversations stopped sounding like contracts and started sounding like favours between friends. The name moved quietly through hotels, concierges, and family offices, and then it crossed the sea.

02The Expansion

Why we ended up in Malta.

Guests who flew in from London, Geneva, Monaco, and Paris asked the same question we wanted to answer. Could the same care travel across borders? Could the same fleet standard hold across a different sea?

The answer arrived in seasons. We added captains who lived where we wanted to charter. We added cars in the cities our guests already used. We added partners we trusted more than the average broker. The list grew slowly. The standard refused to.

Malta entered the picture for the same reason it enters most great Mediterranean stories. The water is calm, the harbours are sheltered, the runs to Comino and Gozo are short, and the season runs from April well into October. The day a guest gets here lands cleaner than almost anywhere we work.

03The Elevation

How we run the Malta operation today.

Berend Stolk runs the charter desk from Malta. He picks the boats that join the list, holds the contracts with the captains, and answers most of the WhatsApp messages that come in during the season. The fleet stays small on purpose. Nineteen yachts is the number we can step on, inspect, and stand behind without thinning the standard.

Pickups happen at Valletta Waterfront, Sliema, and Buġibba marinas. Larger superyachts run from Mġarr in Gozo when the route makes that cleaner. Every yacht ships with the captain, the crew, the safety set, and the kit your group needs. We pre arrange your fuel, your lunch, your beach club tables, and your premium drinks before the day starts.

The team works in the same room. The founders still sign off on every charter. If something goes wrong on the water, your captain calls Berend, Berend calls Kristan, and we fix it from the marina before you notice.

04What Makes Us Different

What you actually book with us.

You are not booking a thing. You are booking a day. The yacht is the platform. The captain is the engine. The route is the script. We write all three around your group, then we hand them to you on the dock.

Some guests want the early Comino swim before the ferries arrive. Some want the slow day to Gozo and a long lunch in Xlendi. Some want a private chef on the aft deck and a route the rest of the harbour does not know. We do all three.

When you message us, you reach the team that runs the boats. There is no booking call centre between you and the captain. The voice that answers your first WhatsApp is the voice that signs off your charter.

The Founders

The founders still answer the phone.

Kristan and Julian De Graaf built the company on the rule that the founders do the booking calls. Years later, the rule still holds. They meet the captains. They test the cars. They sign off on the routes for any new yacht before it joins the list. The team is bigger now, but the standard is still set by hand.
