What a Malta yacht charter actually costs in 2026. Real day rates, weekly rates, what the headline number covers, and what to add on top before you compare quotes side by side.
Most Malta yacht charter sites quote prices in three forms. A daily rate, used most often for one day guests. A weekly rate, common on superyachts. And a custom quote, which is what most luxury charters end up being once you add a route, a crew, and the extras.
This guide breaks the real 2026 numbers down by yacht size. We name the boats, we list the rates, and we tell you what the headline number covers so you can compare quotes side by side without the surprise at the end.
Day boats and sport boats: 1,000 to 1,900 euros per day
The smallest charters in our Malta list are the day boats. The Axopar 28 T-Top runs at 1,000 to 1,300 euros per day. The Axopar 29 Sun-Top runs at 1,150 to 1,500 euros. The Jeanneau Cap Camarat 12.5 sits at 2,000 euros. The Axopar 37 and the Brabus Shadow 900 sit between 1,425 and 2,800 euros.
Each comes with a licensed captain, basic snorkel kit, and a sound system. Fuel is charged at cost based on the route you run, usually 100 to 200 euros for a Comino day. There is no chef and no hostess on day boats this size. Lunch is either packed for the cooler or done at a beach club on the way back.
Mid size motor yachts: 3,200 to 6,500 euros per day
Forty to sixty foot motor yachts sit in the middle of the Maltese fleet. The Sunseeker Predator 52 starts at 3,200 euros. The Cranchi A46 runs at 4,800 euros. The Sunseeker Manhattan 52 sits at 5,900 euros. The Sunseeker Manhattan 66 and Manhattan 73 sit at 5,500 to 6,500 euros. The Sunseeker Predator 72 runs at 5,500 euros.
These boats add a deckhand to the captain. They have a salon, two or three cabins, and full bathrooms. Fuel for a Comino day runs 250 to 500 euros. Most of these yachts ship with a Williams tender and a Seabob. Larger Sunseekers in this group can take twelve guests for the day and six to eight overnight.
Large motor yachts: 6,500 to 10,900 euros per day
The Sunseeker 86 Jupju is the headline daily charter at 10,900 euros, with VAT and 30 nautical miles of fuel included. The Elegance 82 sits at 6,500 euros. Both run with four crew, hold twelve guests for the day, and sleep six to eight overnight in four cabins.
On a yacht this size you expect a hostess setting the table, a chef on board for lunch, and a tender driver for any beach club drop. The kit on board includes Seabobs, paddleboards, water skis, towables, and full snorkel sets. The deck has a flybridge, an aft cockpit, a forward sunpad, and a swim platform.
Superyacht charter: 90,000 to 120,000 euros per week
The Tansu Cuda Class 124 Caladan is our flagship. Weekly rates run 90,000 euros in low season, 110,000 euros in June and September, and 120,000 euros in July and August. The boat is a 38 metre explorer with two master suites, two twin cabins, and a six person professional crew. Toys include a SPX 32 RIB tender with twin 300hp Mercury engines, two SeaDoo jet skis, an electric foil, kite surf gear, and a full Tiwal sailboat.
Superyacht weekly rates exclude VAT and APA. APA is the Advance Provisioning Allowance, usually thirty percent of the charter rate. It covers fuel, food, drinks, marina fees, and any extras across the week. The captain sends a daily statement and refunds the unspent balance at the end. This is standard practice across the Mediterranean for boats over thirty metres.
What is included in the headline price?
The headline rate on every Malta yacht charter we quote covers the yacht, the captain, the crew the boat needs, and the standard onboard kit. That kit is towels, cold water, ice, a Bluetooth sound system, and a current safety set. Larger boats add the hostess, the chef, and the tender driver.
Day boats often include the first thirty nautical miles of fuel in the daily rate. Larger motor yachts and superyachts charge fuel at cost on top, since route lengths vary. We tell you the expected fuel before you commit.
What you should add on top
- Fuel beyond the included nautical miles. Usually 100 to 1,500 euros depending on the boat and the route.
- Lunch and drinks. From 50 euros per guest for a beach club table to 200 euros per guest for a Michelin grade chef on board.
- Beach club tables and dinner reservations ashore. Pre arranged at cost.
- Premium water toys not included on the boat. Jet skis, eFoils, flyboards run at the daily rates on the water toys page.
- VAT where applicable. Day rates often include 12 percent Maltese VAT, weekly superyacht rates exclude it.
- Crew tip. Standard in Malta is around ten percent at the end of the day.
How to compare yacht charter quotes side by side
Most comparison websites quote the headline rate without VAT, without APA, and without fuel. Two boats that look the same on price can differ by thousands of euros once the extras are added. Always ask for the all in figure for your specific dates and route. Ask whether VAT is included. Ask whether APA applies. Ask what fuel will run for the route you want.
We send the all in figure on every quote. The headline rate is the headline rate. The expected extras are listed line by line. The number you sign for is the number you pay.
- Is VAT included on day charters in Malta?
- Most day charters in our list include 12 percent Maltese VAT in the headline rate. We mark the boats where VAT is excluded clearly on the yacht card. Always read the price note.
- What is APA and when does it apply?
- APA is the Advance Provisioning Allowance on superyacht charters. It is usually thirty percent of the charter rate, paid in advance, and covers fuel, food, drinks, and any extras across the week. The captain sends daily statements. The unspent balance is refunded.
- Are weekly rates cheaper per day than daily rates?
- Yes, usually around fifteen to twenty percent cheaper per day. Weekly charters also let the captain plan a longer route, for example Malta and Gozo and Sicily, that day charters cannot easily fit in.
